Like ovals and marquise cuts, every pear has a faint shadow across the centre shaped a bit like a bow tie, caused by how light travels through the elongated shape. A slight bow tie is normal. A heavy, dark one dulls the sparkle right where everyone looks.

It is not cubic zirconia and it is not moissanite, which are different materials entirely. A pear shaped lab grown diamond is a genuine diamond, graded on the same 4Cs of cut, colour, clarity, and carat, and certified by IGI or GIA.
